Tips & Tweaks
Counter Strike: Source offers a lot of console commands. Some of those console commands are pretty useful and give you an advantage. We already covered the “cl_crosshairscale” console command. It really is one of my favourite commands for Counter Strike: Source. Another useful console command is “cl_minmodels 1”. This command allows you to only use one player model per team. You also need to use these two commands: “cl_min_ct 4” and “cl_min_t 3”. The first command sets the Counter Terrorist model to number 4, which is the model with the huge yellow-ish helmet. The second command sets the Terrorist model to number 3. The number 3 model is the white Terrorist model, which is quite easy to spot.
Another useful tip concerning crosshairs is changing the crosshair colour to red. The red colour is much easier to spot then the other available colours. If you are in need of high FPS then you might want to use a so called high FPS config. There are tons of configs available on the net. Ranging from ‘extremely high FPS’ to ‘as high FPS as possible with the smallest graphical loss as possible’.

The last tip I got is concerning downloading those annoying sounds. I really hate those sounds, and it often takes long to download them. Luckily Counter Strike: Source has a console command which disables downloading sounds. cl_downloadfilter “nosounds” will do the trick perfectly, no more annoying sounds! This command also is one of favourite console commands, it has saved me a lot of time.
The End
This was the last part of my Counter Strike: Source guide. Feedback is always welcome, so don’t hesitate to leave a comment. You can expect a .pdf file of the whole guide in the near future. Also, as you might already know, I am working on a custom Nuker.nl ingame menu. You also expect it very soon. I hope you enjoyed reading all three parts of the guide. And remember, think like your enemy…
