One of the more popular blogs on the internet is John Chow’s weblog. His blog is being visited, updated and commented daily. With the topics on his weblog ranging from how to make money online till reviews, you can say that it covers a large (tech-) area. Of course most of the posts are technology related, what would you expect from a dot com mogul?

One of the things I like about John Chow’s website are his posts. They are pretty clear and easy to read. Furthermore they are also interesting enough and often amusing. They probably attracts people from all around the world. Another great thing about his website is the theme he is using. Why you ask? Because I use the same theme! Of course both are (heavily) modified. The layout of the website is close to perfect.

Of course popular blogs tend to have advertisements. Personally I don’t really mind advertisements, that is if there are not too much of them. John Chow’s has way to many advertisements on his blog. Way too much. They are everywhere; between his posts, at the header, you name it! Talking about his header, another thing which I don’t really like. Those fancy cars do not seem to contribute anything to the website at all. And some of his posts also look like advertisements, they must have been payed posts.

All in all, the website is ok. The posts are often interesting to read and entertaining. It might be better to read the posts using the RSS feed. This saves you a lot of annoying advertisements. Yes indeed, those advertisements is something John Chow should change. But since almost none seems to care (e.g : they are still posting comments/reading his posts) it won’t change anytime soon.
