To Cry or not to Cry?

I’ve been following the development of Crysis and the CryEngine v2 for a while now and I must say it’s looking very promising. Crysis is being developed by CryTek, they also develop(ed) the CryEngine v2, CryEngine v1 and the game FarCry. The game hasn’t been released yet, but it already has received loads of awards. Ranging from quite a lot of E3 2006 Awards till a couple of IGN and GameSpot awards. Just to name a couple:

  • Gametrailers “Best PC Game”
  • 1UP “Best Visuals” E3 2006
  • IGN “Best PC FPS”
  • GameSpy “Top 10 PC Game” E3 2006

Check the Crysis website for a complete overview of all the rewards. And if you look at this video or check it out below, and you will understand why it has already received a lot of awards. It has the most remarkable engine I’ve seen since the Source engine which has been developed by Valve. There is a huge list of specifications available from the CryEngine v2. One of the most interesting features is the fact that you can destroy all vegetation and buildings. I wonder if my computer will survive this game. To be honest, I highly doubt so!

To Cry or not to Cry? Thats the question!
